Contrary to how many other mamas feel, I actually LOVE Mondays. Not gonna lie though they can get really crazy super quick if you are not strategic in your preparation for the week. If you've been taking a first class seat on the struggle bus lately, these tips can help. Today, I put together a quick list of four things you can do tonight for a better tomorrow. They are easy, practical tips you can apply to your routine that don't require a crazy amount of effort. My inner lazy gal is rejoicing- ha! Scroll down to check out some of these tips.
Clean Your Space
Maybe it's just me, but I can't deal with having a messy home, by the time the evening rolls around my room alone looks like I haven't picked up the room in weeks with clothes everywhere and a bed that isn't made. If I don't take the time to pick up at night I feel like I have remnants of last night flowing into the beginning of a new week, so I take a few minutes before bed and put away the dishes, wipe of my table, clean counters, pick up toys and whatever else is on the floor. When I walk out of my room in the morning and see a clean space- it made everything totally worth it! Seriously, there is no better feeling!
YYup! You've read right! One thing that can actually help your day tomorrow is properly winding down the evening before to ensure you are getting the best sleep. I am so guilty of sometimes saying I'm going to bed but end up being on my phone scrolling through Instagram for a few hours. Not going to lie, it is fun but I end up staying up way too late and feel sluggish and grumpy the next day. My new rule? No electronics in bed. I swapped my phone for a book and found that it's the best option in heading off to sleep.
Prep/ Set Out The Things You Need
GUYS! This tip saves lives! Any way you look at it, this one thing can completely change the game on how your mornings go. I had to get back into the groove after I had my son with planning the night before and I don't know how I functioned without it. Take your shower, pack your lunch, set out your clothes, pack your bags and wrote out your schedule the night before. Set out any workout gear, water, books or materials you like to read in the morning so you don't have to look for it. It sounds a little elementary, but you won't regret it. Gone are the days where you have to sweat the small stuff because it's already done! If you can try to prep your breakfast for the family the day before that would also save a massive amount of time for you.
Look Over Your Schedule
I mentioned this tip a little bit already, but write out your schedule and do a quick scan of it before bed so you know what to expect. I like to plan my entire week in advance so then I'm just going over the next day's tasks throughout the week, but do whatever works best for you! In my book "The Mom Boss Organization Guide" I go over the importance of crafting a bomb schedule and give you a step by step guide on how to create you own schedule that you can actually stick to. It's now available on Amazon- click HERE to purchase. One thing I also like to do is set my planner bedside. If there is an event I forgot about or something I want to jot down (because we all get the best ideas when we're in bed!) then it's not too far away. Your schedule will be lit before you even roll out of bed for the day!
