So during my pregnancy, I started hearing buzz on a new baby monitor that ran from your phone. I was both curious and impressed in learning about the lollipop and just had to get it! The lollipop baby monitor was designed to keep parents at ease with being able to check on their baby at anytime simply through a phone app. It's convenient and no matter where I go I can see my son with a tap of a button. With that being said, there are pros and cons to owning this type of monitor. I'm excited to be able to share it with you!
Here is a bit more information about the monitor via the lollipop website:
"The Lollipop camera broadcasts a live feed you can access via the Lollipop app. Additionally, you can share a link to the live feed with anyone who has a tablet or smartphone. Images from your feed can be shared to social media -- but only with your explicit permission."
Back in 2017 when I ordered mine, it is was only available through amazon. Lollipop has recently expanded to taking direct orders from their website in addition to amazon. Retail price on america's favorite online retailer is currently $149.00. If ordering through amazon as a prime member you could get your new monitor in as little as two days. My package came on time and in pristine shape. If ordering off of their website just know the retail price is going to be $155. The lollipop now comes with a wall sensor to detect the temperature, a daily/weekly data chart in the lollipop app as well as event push video when conditions exceed the preset safe region you selected- this all sells for an additional $55. I bought one of the original models so I don't have this feature to review on!
The monitor packaging is probably the most unique packaging design I have come to see. It seems very high quality and for the price I feel the box reflected the product well. Once you open your lollipop box you are greeted with a small flyer, and behind that is where your monitor is nestled. One of my favorite features about the lollipop is it's silicone stem giving you the ability to wrap your monitor in a unique way either on your baby's crib or mounted on the wall using the included wall mounting kit. With traditional monitors you're kept in a box when it comes to where to place it for the best visual for your baby, With the lollipop you're open to have it in various places that suits you and your needs including having it stand up by itself! Everything you need to set up your new monitor is included so no extra charges are necessary! The lollipop comes in three colors: blue, green and pink! I chose the blue one (pictured above) and it's so pretty.
Setting up the was fairly simple and I am no tech guru! In a nutshell after installment, you download the app, go through a verification process and make an account. From there you can connect your wifi and boom! Your baby monitor is set up and ready to go. The picture quality is SO CLEAR and I love the automatic night mode feature. No mater what time of day it is I can always see my son. The lollipop can play music as well as includes a microphone to talk through so baby can hear your voice.
As far as product quality and performance goes, quality is definitely there. I feel like the price was worth what I recieved and essentially I am paying for the convenient of being able to check on my son from where ever I'm at. I love the updates it sends to my phone on if the room environment is too loud, on if my son is crying. I was at the grocery store once and was able to still see him so this first time mom was very happy. The only thing about this monitor is that it runs on wifi. I didn't really realize it but if your wifi signal is faulty or your wifi is turned off the monitor is essentially useless. I also had issues with my monitor turning off with no real reason as to why. I then had to re-plug and connect it to wifi again which is a little annoying. Despite these minor flaws, Overall I'm very happy with my purchase!
Here is a great, recent youtube video allowing you find out more about the monitor and to see what the lollipop is actually like in real life:
