I recently asked over on Instagram what blog you wanted to see next from me and it was a clear that y'all wanted to see what a day in my life looks like. Everyday is a little bit different but usually this is how it goes. Hope you enjoy!
I wake up: 5:30am
I wish I did something awesome when I first wake up, but I usually sit in bed and look at Instagram.
Or falling back asleep.
Somewhere between 5:45-6:00am
Isaiah is up and is the most helpful alarm clock for me. He sleeps in our room still and always rises before the sun does. I try to have his bottle ready before hand when I wake up. But I'm usually sprinting to the kitchen to get it ready while he's screaming.
No later than 6:15am Isaiah has his first bottle of the day
While he's eating, I'm doing my morning devotional and planning my morning IG post for the day.
I like to have everything ready to go so I can just copy and paste later.
By 7:00AM Isaiah is back asleep. Time For a shower!
I jet in the bathroom and take the worlds fastest shower- no longer than fifteen minutes (timed). After I get out, I get myself ready. If it's not the weekend I'm staying in comfy clothes, no makeup and hair in a bun. I then head to the kitchen to fix some coffee or tea... most of the time it's coffee. I look over my schedule and plan what blog post I'm doing for the day.
Usually I'm the only one up so this is my prime power hour to get some things done.
8:30AM Hubby & Isaiah Wakes Up
If I'm fortunate sometimes Isaiah dosen't get up until 9AM. But usually it's around 8:30 when both of my babes get up. I stop my work to change Isaiah and get him dressed. My husband gets ready for work as well. I give Isaiah another bottle and do something simple like check my emails from the day before. Once he's done, he goes in his high chair while I start breakfast and make lunch for my husband. I love this time of the day because we usually strike up a fun conversation and listen to music. Sometimes it's Hillsong and others it's Disney- whatever we're feeling for the day. I also like watching IG stories during this time while I'm making food and see what everyone else is up too!
I usually can have everyone fed, dishes washed and lunch packed by 10:00AM
Hubby leaves for work 10:50AM- Isaiah goes down for his second nap
When Shawn leaves and Isaiah is taking his second nap for the day, I get writing completed, respond to blog comments, check emails and read other blogs! I usually try to plan out my own content for the week looking over what I can squeeze in before nap time is over again. My son is still drinking no more than 4.5 oz on average so he still eats pretty frequently and never naps for more than two hours.
Isaiah is Up again by 1:00PM...
I stop work to play with him for the afternoon. We read stories or do tummy time. I like to take any photos of him for Instagram or the blog during this time as well. He's usually in the best mood all smiles and giggles.
The sunlight usually isn't harsh yet and I can snap some really good photos of him.
It isn't long before he starts to get fussy again and is ready for another nap.
Shawn Calls during his lunch break & Isaiah is back up at 3:00PM
My husband always does a face time call to see how Isaiah and I are doing during his lunch break. I'm usually feeding him a bottle while talking. After we finish, I put the baby down to eat some food myself. By now I'm ending for the day, tying up loose strings with editing and emailing folks. Sometimes I'm trying to keep Isaiah entertained because sometimes he want's to take another nap and other times he won't
If he does take a nap he's up by 4:30PM
I put him in the baby carrier and start dinner. Usually something quick because my child has zero chill and wants to do something interactive. While dinner is going I like to start my prep for the next day. The rest of the night highly depends on if he naps or not.
Most of the time I'm doing tasks with the soundtrack of his cries in the background.
Bath Time Around 6PM!
Isaiah used to HATE bath time, but he recently had a change of heart. If he's fussy and getting tired this can usually cheer him up. I have these foam bath letter cut outs that he likes to try and hold. I also put on instrumental worship music to get him calm and ready for bed. I like to go over the letters and chat with him- he's a baby that really enjoys interaction with others. After his bath we get him dried off and in his pajamas. I let him hang out on our bed while I pick up the room and pick out his clothes for the next day.
Bedtime Story and Last Bottle At 7:30PM
I read to him during his feeding and then he's out like a light! He's then swaddled and majority of the times sleeps through the night until the morning. We've been dealing with some sleep regression lately especially when he's going through a growth spurt. So it just depends. My husband gets home at 9:30PM so from this point on I use this time in between to do whatever I want! Watch my favorite show, listen to a podcast or read are some of my favorites. I also go on instagram and respond to any comments and check my email. Notice how working out is NOT on this list. Y'all I still have a hard time trying to be active... like, I would rather eat cake. So that's pretty much my day in a nutshell. After Shawn gets home, we eat dinner, chill, then get ready for bed.
Can any of you mamas relate to my day in the life? If you have any tips on how to squeeze in a workout I would love to hear! Still struggling on that one- until next time...
