Mother's Day is coming up and now more than ever I'm reminded on how important it is to build a comuinity of mamas around myself to go to when I'm in need of support and advice. The role of a mom is so important but it can be kind of lonely especially as a stay at home mom. I'm grateful for modern conveniences like the internet for me to be able to connect with other ladies around the world (so cool!) but there still isn't anything like actually seeing someone face to face. If you're looking to build your mom tribe here are a few ways on how to get yourself meeting more people!
- Visit Your Local Library Story Time: Good connections can be made during story time! Our library breaks up activities for kids by age so you'll always be meeting moms with babies around the same age as yours!
- Check Free Mom Events In Your City: You'll be surprised on how many free things are offered right in your neighborhood. I know I was, and it seemed like I was missing so many opportunities to connect with other moms and families that didn't cost a thing to be apart of! Festivals, meetups and park concerts are a plenty now that the weather is warming up! Get out there and see what local events your city is hosting.
- MOPS (Moms Of Preschool Children) or Other Christian Mom Groups: MOPS is nationwide mom group and holds meetings in local churches in whatever area you may be in. You'll be surrounded by a community of moms and mentors that you can connect with while attending meetings every week. Your local church may have a moms group program to get involved in during the week as well to help meet other moms in a positive environment. Some also offer free tools and resources to help your family out with food, clothing and baby supplies as well!
