During the week our days are pretty chill but on the weekends my family and I are always on the go! Now that my baby is older, I noticed my diaper bag was filled with more things I didn't originally bring when he was a newborn. If that wasn't enough, I also saw how I was getting disorganized when I was out, making it harder to find things I needed. No Bueno! I teamed up with Itzy Ritzy and snagged some travel essentials that has made going out with a six month old so much more fun! They sent me a few items to review and try out and I couldn't be happier to get some items that was going to make stepping outside a breeze. Today I'll be sharing them with you along with some other things that I use on the go!
Teethers + Toys
My son has recently been into playing with things and I'm going to be honest, we rely a lot on small toys to keep him occupied and entertained. Pack a few of your baby's favorite rattles, teethers and toys that can hook or be attached to the car seat/ shopping carts. Isaiah is obsessed with the Itzy Ritzy pineapple teether and his Nuby Squueze N Squeek toy. I adore both because the teether is bright and easy to find. Made from non toxic food grade silicone and excellent for little hands. The squeek toy has rings that can attach to anything so it won't drop- score!
Bags, Bags and More Bags!
I realized the older my son gets the more things I'm bringing along with us. Girl, I feel like Mary Poppins with the bag full of surprises for him. I use mini bags along with my Kute N Koo clutch to keep diapers, spare clothes and things in place. The Itzy Ritzy Travel happens wetbag is stylish and excellent for clothing. They have so many adorable prints for you to choose from and I can really see me using this during the summer to store a wet bathing suit or soiled clothes during the day. What I do is put dry clothes in my wet bag and if I have a slippery situation on my hands (We have spit up mishaps often!) I do a switcharoo with wet clothes in the wet bag and dry clothes on the baby- saves time because you know EXACTLY where to find everything too!
Car Seat Cover For Afternoon Naps
Depending what's on the agenda for the day, we could be outside for a while. We still use our infant car seat for our little guy and he's used to taking naps in it. You'll need the Itzy Ritzy mom boss cover because it will block the sun and wind from your little one to insure that naps are to be had while on the road. I don't know about you but my baby hates having bright lights in his face while he's trying to sleep- I don't blame him! The mom boss cover is cute and functional and made with the best knit quality. Breathable but not to thin. This cover is 4 in 1 so you can use it for your car seat, nursing, the shopping cart cover as well as a infinity scarf - perfect for hiding the spit up on my shirt!
Snack Bag For Mama And Baby
Last thing you can't forget is to throw in a few snacks for you and baby. We're starting to explore other things for Zay to eat other than milk so we bring along apple sauce, baby mum mums or puffs for him. These are so helpful when he's getting fussy and I can't make him a bottle right away. Don't forget snacks for yourself too in your diaper bag. Granola, power bars or nuts are great choices to keep you fueled up during the warm days- don't forget water as well!
I hope some of these items are helpful for you- what summer adventures are you planning on taking this year?
